I was born in a musicians' family; as a consequence, ever since I was a child I have had the opportunity of getting used to the violin, the instrument played by my parents. However, my parents have never insisted on my approaching to music; when I was a little child I pottered around the house with a violin but for me it was just for fun. My approach was slow and natural at the same time. As a matter of fact, real study started in Japan when I was 7 with my father Kango Yokoyhama and my mother Reko Shimizu; afterwards I studied with Nandor Szederkenyi (second violin in Osaka Century Orchestra) and then I continued at Monteverdi Music School in Cremona, where I moved when I was 19 to follow my mother's concert activity . In this town I got my first-class diploma in February 2011, under the guidance of Laura Gorna. After several years, I still feel the need of improving my technical and interpretative skills. I have been following specialization courses for 2 years at Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona with Maestro Salvatore Accardo. Listening to his advice, I fully realize his great experience and career ; it is a real luck to be able to attend his courses. My concert activity is linked to the collaboration with Cremonese pianist Diego Maccagnola; I have been playing with him for about 6 years; we held several concerts together and have reached a very good emotional harmony, both from a professional and a human point of view. We have been working for a few months on a new professional project, together with cellist Alessandro Copia; with him we held our first concert in Portogruaro and we have been studying with Parma Trio at Trieste School in Duino. In these four years I have played four violins and I am very fond of all of them. The first one was a violin made by Luca Pasquetto, endowed with a “sweet and articulate sound” ; then I had the opportunity of playing one of my father's instruments carried out in 1901 by violinmaker Leandro Bisach with a very “ soft and balanced” sound. Despite the excellent qualities of the instument, I felt it lacked some power for solo pieces . So, I decided to change with an extraordinary violin by violinmaker Francesco Bissolotti, with a very warm and powerful sound; I have used it in a lot of concerts and I love it. At the moment, I am currently using a violin belonging to my mother Reiko made by violinmaker Giulio Cesare Gigli in Rome in 1752; I am very fond of it. My mother played a fundamental role in my growth, she always supported me, but unfortunately she died last year; she would be 57 these days. Whenever I play the violin, I feel particularly near her, I feel her strength, it is as if she continued to help me and this is a very special sensation. These days, I am studying opus 108 sonata 3 by J. Brahms (my favourite composer), ; in the following months I will alternate my studies with concert activities with Trio Karon and with duo, I am also having a curious meeting with a band......
